Happy Valentines Day

So it's that red time of the year again.

The time where all you see is chocolate-and ALOT of it.

With mine and hubby's anniversary happening on the 12th
we usually try to aim for a date then, instead of V-day.
Kinda of a kill 2 birds with 1 stone thing, with my anniversary date.

I don't hate the holiday, but don't really feel the need to over do the holiday either.

I like watching the silly romantic movies.

I feel really blessed to not have to stress on this particular holiday.

Yes, I'm glad to be married and not be dating.

But, Valentines Day is mostly about the kids to me :)

It's more about seeing the kids leave for school that day so excited about Valentines treats and cards they will be giving and receiving that day.

I get so excited about the kids doing Valentine cards that as soon as they come out in the stores, I'm dragging the kids out to get what they like for that year!

The girls think they need "boy"  and "girl" cards to give to their friends.
I remember getting the boy cards growing up in school and never really minded myself, but this is a whole new, different generation I suppose.

So for Tristan usually I help him out and write his name, but this year the girls wanted to do it for him.

The teachers request for Tristan this year was just to put his name only on the cards.  Of course since we had ours done way early, I ended up having to redo them.
I thought I was going to fall asleep with skittles in my hair, but I pulled through.

So here we are on the actual day and some photos of the V-day school craze

This year he made a bear bag to hold his valentines in.
Luckily he got some treats besides just stuff he couldn't enjoy due to his allergies.

I love the different little things the kids make to hold their cards in.

This next one will crack me up for years to come.
Mady came home today all excited that she got something from Adrian today on Valentines Day.
This little boy is so cute.  He's such a good little boy and has had a crush on Mady for years.
Good thing it's only a grade school crush or I'd be more worried :)
But, I loved the origami and the drawing.

Joce got tons of treats today and some cool v- day cards.
She came home and teared right into everything.

That's a wrap of Valentines day for my Kinder boy, 3rd grader and 5th grade wonder!
Oh and my red painted nails :)
Only time of the year I can pull this one off!
